If you’re reading this and you’re the parent or of somebody that as a stammer, then your task is fairly easy. To support your child who suffers with stammering then you need to try creating a comfortable place for your child where they feel comfortable, by doing this you help to relax your child’s muscles which in turn allows for them to have more breathing space.
In addition to this try to encourage your child to take up activities which will allow them to speak in front of people and even if they don’t feel confident immediately about the situation give it a few weeks and your child will defiantly see an improvement in your child’s confidence.
Another big thing when I’ve been doing research, and this applies to nearly everyone with a stammer that I have spoken to who suffers with a stammer and it is that people don’t feel like they are given enough opportunity to speak and that people either cut them off at the end of sentences or that they aren’t given a fair opportunity to talk. All people need is more time to finish talking without any interruptions.
